.) I’m a homegrown Northsider - I know and love this community and represent it passionately.
.) I understand many of the Northside’s most challenging social and economic issues and envision significant community improvements.
.) My community works have prepared me to represent, research, organize, advocate, lobby and effectively produce just and equitable public policy work.
.) I’m a young, energetic family man who is capable of reaching out to and connecting with Northside youth, elders, homeowners and renters.
.) Unlike the incumbent, I’m culturally competent and comfortable working with and for humans from all cultures, ethnicities and income levels.
.) I’m socially progressive and will work diligently for social and economic justice and equitable community economic development.
.) Barbara Johnson is out of touch with the Northside; she has disserved the 4th Ward with unwise public policy work that has been detrimental to the economy, social justice, and civic participation.
.) It’s 2009 and time to discontinue the dynasty. The multi-generational occupation of the 4th Ward City Council seat by Barb’s family is played out. No disrespect intended, but it’s time for change on the Northside.
.) I propose an inclusive leadership style and an effective partnership with an organized, civically engaged Northside Community Coalition to serve Northside needs, revitalize and sustain the community socially and economically, to help redeem Northside living and business conditions and the community’s reputation.
.) I am boldly visionary and driven to work for a high residential quality of life in our neighborhoods.
